Numerically Speaking

This month: why vendors are shaping your GenAI strategy, new tools for production LLM apps, and what happens when an AI agent goes rogue.

Who's really driving your GenAI strategy?

More than one-third of IT leaders (38%) admit their GenAI strategy is being driven by their application vendors.

If that sounds familiar, this GartnerĀ® report is for you. Download it today to learn how you can establish governance that keeps pace with AI innovation.

Google VP says these types of AI startups may not survive

As foundation models improve and margins shrink, LLM wrappers and AI aggregators are bound to struggle, Google’s Darren Mowry tells TechCrunch. Anaconda CEO David DeSanto made a similar call earlier this month.

“In other words, startups can no longer expect to slap a UI on top of a GPT and get traction on their product,” says Rebecca Bellan, senior reporter. “The challenge now is to build sustainable product value.”

New tools for production LLM applications

We’ve added eight new packages for production LLM applications to Anaconda’s main channel. The new additions cover vector search (FAISS, Qdrant), stateful orchestration (LangGraph, DSPy), development tools (Gradio, Polars), and audio processing (whisper.cpp).

More packages for production inference, fine-tuning, and monitoring are coming soon.

Meta AI director watches AI agent delete her inbox

Summer Yue asked her OpenClaw agent to review her inbox and suggest emails to delete or archive. Instead, the agent began deleting emails by the hundreds and ignored Yue’s stop commands.

“I couldn’t stop it from my phone,” Yue said in a viral X post. “I had to RUN to my Mac mini like I was defusing a bomb.”

What does it take to ship an AI agent?

If you or your team are building with LLMs, this five-chapter preview of AI Agents in Action, 2nd Edition is worth the read.

Author Micheal Lanham shows what the architecture looks like in practice, including agent flows, tool integration, guardrails, and the failure modes you need to know.
