Anaconda acquires Outerbounds
Anaconda has acquired Outerbounds, an ML orchestration and deployment company built by the team that created Metaflow at Netflix.
Outerbounds adds the orchestration layer above Anaconda’s foundation: workflow execution, artifact tracking, governed deployment, and reproducible pipelines across any infrastructure. In this blog post, Anaconda CEO David DeSanto and Outerbounds co-founder Ville Tuulos explain what this acquisition means and what’s coming next.

This week, we released Anaconda Desktop, a single application for AI development.
Anaconda Desktop puts local LLMs in the same place as your environments and packages. The beta launch comes with full conda environment management and a curated AI model catalog, all with local inference built in.

GPT-5.5 brings OpenAI one step closer to AI ‘super app’
OpenAI intensified the AI race last week with GPT-5.5, which challenges Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.7 across several benchmarks. It also brings the company one step closer to creating an AI “super app.”
“[OpenAI] co-founders envision combining ChatGPT, Codex, and AI browser into one unified service that can aid enterprise customers,” writes Lucas Ropek of TechCrunch. “The ‘super app’ concept is also a hot topic with Altman rival (and former OpenAI colleague) Elon Musk, who has said he wants to turn X into its own so-called super app.”
