As part of our partnership, Anaconda has added the kdb+ database system, and related machine learning libraries, to our popular Python and R open source Anaconda Distribution. Kdb+ is now much more easily integrated into Python-based projects, and technologists outside of the kdb+ community can now take advantage of the power of kdb+ without having to learn how to program in q.
Kdb+ is the world’s fastest time-series database at the forefront of high-performance streaming, real-time, and historical analytics. Its unified, elegant q language includes first-class tables, functions, and time-series features. Its tiny footprint efficiently scales vertically and horizontally.
Anaconda’s partnership with Kx is an outgrowth of the expansion of kdb+ into machine learning applications. Through the Anaconda Distribution, kdb+ becomes part of the Anaconda Python ecosystem, making it easier for Python developers building ML/AI applications to use kdb+. Currently there are three packages available for installation via Anaconda Distribution: kdb, embedpy, and jupyterq, which can be found at https://anaconda.org/kx.
