The supercomputing community will convene in Dallas on November 11-16 for Supercomputing 2018 (SC18), the international conference for high-performance computing, networking, storage, and analysis. As part of the program, Anaconda Software Engineer Siu Kwan Lam will present “Numba: High Productivity Python without Sacrificing Performance” at the Intel booth on Thursday, November 15, at 1:00-1:30 PM. Taking Python from high-productivity to high-performance, Numba is a compiler for compute-intensive Python programs. It can transform NumPy array expressions into SIMD-vectorized code and automatically select the most optimal instructions available on the machine. Moreover, Numba can automatically parallelize Python code using Intel threading building blocks, thus providing an easy way to leverage all the cores without burdening the programmer.
