# Configuring Navigator to work with Anaconda Server

<Note>
  You must [configure conda](./conda) prior to using Navigator with Anaconda Server.
</Note>

Anaconda Navigator is a desktop graphical user interface (GUI) included in Anaconda Distribution that allows you to launch applications and easily manage conda packages, environments, and channels without using command-line commands. Navigator can search for packages on [anaconda.org](https://www.anaconda.org) or in a local Anaconda repository. It is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Learn how to use Navigator in the [Anaconda Navigator](/docs/legacy/anaconda-navigator/main) guide.

## Viewing environments

Anaconda Server environments are currently not displayed on the Navigator **Environment** tab. As Navigator only displays environments on your own machine, you will need to download an environment from Anaconda Server onto your machine to view it and then import it into Navigator.
