# Event publishing

Flows publish events to trigger other flows decorated with `@project_trigger`. Events resolve to `prj.{project}.{branch}.{name}`, the same namespace the trigger decorator consumes, so an event published on a branch only triggers flows deployed on that branch.

## Choosing a publish method

Use `publish_event` in normal flows, where a failed publish should fail the run. Use `safe_publish_event` when the event is best-effort, such as a notification that should not block the rest of the pipeline. Use `ProjectEvent` directly in standalone scripts and CI jobs, outside a flow context.
