The `set-metadata` subcommand registers or updates the flowproject metadata record for a project branch. Use it after deploying flows and assets through your own tooling so the platform knows what is deployed.

## Usage

```sh theme={null}
outerbounds flowproject set-metadata <JSON>
```

## Arguments

<GTable cols="25% 75%">
  <GHead>
    <GRow>
      <GTH>Argument</GTH>
      <GTH>Description</GTH>
    </GRow>
  </GHead>

  <GBody>
    <GRow>
      <GCell>`<JSON>`</GCell>
      <GCell>Required. A JSON string containing the flowproject metadata payload.</GCell>
    </GRow>
  </GBody>
</GTable>

## Examples

```sh theme={null}
outerbounds flowproject set-metadata '{"project": "fraud_detection", "branch": "main", "workflows": [{"flow_template_id": "frauddetection.prod.trainflow"}]}'
```

<Warning>
  This is a low-level command used by deployment tooling. Prefer [`obproject-deploy`](/docs/platform/guides/projects/utilities-api/cli/obproject-deploy) for standard deployments.
