Continuum Analytics, the premier provider of Python-based data analytics solutions and services, announced today the release of the latest version of Anaconda, its premium collection of libraries for Python. Anaconda enables big data management, analysis, and cross-platform visualization for business intelligence, scientific analysis, engineering, machine learning, and more. The latest release, version 1.5, includes the addition of netCDF4, as well as updates to Python, NumPy, SciPy, IPython, MatPlotLib, Pandas, and Cython.

Available on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, Anaconda includes more than 80 of the most popular numerical and scientific Python libraries used by scientists, engineers and data analysts, with a single integrated and flexible installer. It also allows for the mixing and matching of different versions of Python (including Python 3.3 on a 64-bit Linux installation), NumPy, SciPy, etc., and the ability to easily switch between these environments.

Highlights to the latest version of Anaconda include:

  • Updates to Python, NumPy, SciPy, IPython, MatPlotLib, Pandas, and Cython
  • Addition of netCDF4 (with OpenDAP support) on Linux and Mac OS X, enaml, dynd-python, and pycosat

Continuum also offers Anaconda Accelerate for fast multi-core/GPU computations, IOPro for memory-efficient data loading, MKL Optimizations for speed-boosted NumPy and SciPy, and Wakari for in-browser Python analysis and visualization.
